If you have ever wondered if hypnotherapy can help you with that niggling issue that has been bothering you, you would not be alone. Many people consider hypnosis at some point in their lives, but are often put off due to fear or lack of knowledge. When I first tell people I am a Hypnotherapist, I am often asked if I can ‘cure’ people of their fear of spiders / smoking habit / anxiety etc. The first thing I like to tell people is that it cannot ‘cure’ anything, but it quite possibly can help, as long as the desire and willingness to change is there in the first place.
There is a common misconception that hypnotherapy will do all the hard work for you, but essentially, change has to come from within and it can take time to reach a mindset where you are truly ready to let go of a way of thinking, behaviour or emotion which has been holding you back. It can often feel like we have no control over certain aspects of our life and despite a desperate want for change, it just feels impossible to implement. Hypnotherapy can help you access the motivation and inner strength you perhaps don’t even realise you have, and teach you techniques for lasting change, which you can draw on whenever you might need them again in the future.
I firmly believe that when you empower yourself and take an active role in your well-being (which can involve effort and practice on your part) you will start to set in motion positive changes.
