The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to ask any questions you may have before we begin working together. It is very relaxed, usually lasts 30 – 45 minutes and allows me to gather some background information from you. I usually recommend we meet in person, however if this is not possible, I am happy to do this via skype.
I will explain a bit about how the brain works and the role of the conscious and subconscious minds in the formation of problematic thought patterns and behaviours. We will also talk about the techniques I use and how these can help.
After the session I will email you a link to a guided relaxation recording for you to listen to in-between sessions. Regularly listening to this will help with your general stress levels, the quality of your sleep and allow your mind to start creating new, positive pathways in your brain.
I usually recommend that sessions take place on a regular basis to begin with (weekly / fortnightly) to keep up momentum, however we can work around what is right for you. Sessions tend to follow a similar format each week and last about 1 hour, however I do recognise that every person and situation is unique and I tailor my sessions accordingly.
Sessions are relaxed and friendly and, depending on the situation, will involve a combination of techniques to help empower you and bring about change. These include: solution focused talking therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, guided relaxations / visualisations and mindfulness. You may also be given exercises to practice between sessions and additional hypnosis recordings which will help to facilitate positive changes.
As the sessions progress, and the more regularly you listen to the recordings outside of sessions, you will find that you have increased clarity and confidence and are able to enter a relaxed state more easily.
1-1.5 hour stand alone consultation, either in person or via skype. I will ask you some questions and we will discuss the issue you want to address and any specific suggestions you might like used in your recording. We will also talk a bit about the brain and work through some empowering techniques.
A few days after the session you will be provided with a bespoke hypnosis recording, created personally for you, from the information obtained in your consultation. As this recording is personal to you and your issue, it will be an extremely powerful tool to help you bring about positive change when it is listened to on a regular basis.
Follow up sessions can be arranged at a reduced rate as and when required and will be based on positive, solution focused therapeutic techniques.
